Favorite Food

My favorite foods are pretty much the same as they were when I was young. I have always liked porcupine meatballs alot. Also, I'm a fan of chicken strips, cheese burgers, bratwerst, and pizza. A few things have changed now though. My grandpa made me eat tomatoes like every day last summer so now I almost always put a slice on my cheese burger. Also, I try to eat a little healthier these days so I eat alot more salad than I did when I was a kid. When I was a kid I ate popcorn almost every day and now I never eat it. Ice cream and cereal are two more things I have basically stopped eating all together. When I was in elementary school we always had grahm crackers on milk break and now that I dont get thoes anymore grahm crackers are out of my diet as well. I guess my tastes haven changed, theres just a few things that I can do without these days. Being in college there are alot of foods I miss, but hopefully this summer I can make them again.

After that class gets done at 4:30 I have to write a two page paper for my next class, bio. Bio starts at 6 and ends at 9. After that i have to work out, it's legs today. When Im done there I have to study for my econ test at 8am the next day and my private pilot phase check at 9am. So from now untill about 3 o'clock wednesday I'm super busy. My schedule is like this every monday and tuesday and i hate it. Thank you mankato for losing my medical records forcing me to sign up for classes way late. I should be done flying by the end of next week. I will get my private pilots licence and then stop. I cant afford to fly anymore.

Long cross country

A few days ago I had to do my long cross country flight. This includes a full stop at three different airports that are all seperated by at least 50mi. My first stop was Redwood Falls. When I departed mankato it was a little cloudy, but nothing to worry about. By the time I left the airport the clouds had moved in and there was a pretty much solid layer from 3 thousand to 4 thousand feet. As a student pilot i'm sopposed to stay underneath of the clouds. It was too bumpy there and i was too low, so i decided to climb above the clouds. I settled at about 7 thousand feet and the air was nice and smooth. It was like I was floating on a sea of white cotton balls. Nearing RWF, I had to decend through the clouds. I found a spot that looked somwhat open and started my decent. About ten miles out i busted through and got the shit beat out of me. The valley plus already bad weather conditions created some severe turbulance. As I got closer and closer to the airport the turbulance got worse. I was actually a little scared, dont tell anybody. Apon reaching the airport the turbulance drove me down below pattern altitude and i was scared I would hit a tower or somthing, many of which were barley visiable. Coming in for final I damn near shit myself, my plane was going everywhere. I used my rudders to control the nose, and had a smooth landing. At the end of the runway you are sopposed to taxi back and take off again. While turning around I got stuck in a snowdrift! Thats just the beginning.

First Solo Cross Country Today!

Yesterday I had my solo cross country phase check. Its like a check to see if you know what you are doing enough so that you can fly to other airports alone. You have to go with a different instructor and I feel like it went pretty well. It takes about three hours, two hours of oral questions on the ground and then about an hour in the air. After the phase check my instructor text me last night and told me to create a flightplan for Redwood Falls. This means that today I should be flying there for my first solo. I've flown their once before with my instructor, but I don't think we landed. Im pretty excited and I think it will be alot of fun. The GPS makes it pretty easy to get there, but if that fails I can still get there with my compass, and sectional. The weather is sopposed to be good so it will be nice if it stays that way. The trip is about 52 mi. and should take me no longer than 35 min one way. I didn't get much sleep last night but hopefully that wont be a factor. I am really tired though and after I fly I have speech from 3-4:15. I will probably be passed out by five. Friday will be an easy day for me though, one class from 2-3 and I'm done. There is a test in that class tomorrow, but I should do alright.

pet peeve

My biggest pet peeve is when people move my things without asking me. My mom did it all the time before she kicked me out. If i had things on the table, or maybe a book in the living room she would move it. She never asked if she could relocate my things, and worse yet she never told me when she did. Half the time she would forget where she put them and blame it on me. When people come in to my doorm room somtimes they pick things up to look at them, or eat some of my food. I wouldn't have any problem with this but permission is never recieved by them. I don't understand why people treat other people's things as if they are their own. My dad always uses my expencive hunting and fishing equiptment. I come home to find it strewn about the garage and house. If I say anything to my parents about them having no respect for my property they freak out. Also, I like for things to be neat and orderly. If someone does touch anything of mine I'm quick to notice.

I'm Tired

Last weekend was a bad one. I headed home on my three hour journey so that I could fix the valve cover gasket in my nissan, and my head gasket on my BMW. I arived home at about 6 o'clock friday evening. I wanted to be able to get started on my BMW right away on saturday so I decided to take the car out of the barn that night. I drove the truck up to where I'd be take the car out to make a path through the snow. I then tried to open the barn doors which were froze shut. It took me about two hours to chip the ice away and finnaly get the doors open. I started my car and proceded to back it out. The car slid down a bank, and got stuck in deep snow. After digging and trying to drive the car out I decided to pull it with the truck. A rope or any connecting object was no where to be found. After about an hour of looking I found an old horse rope. I tied that to the truck and my car and got it pulled out. Now I needed to get the car in the garage. Cleaning it was the first task because I wouldnt have been able to fit a bike in there, much less a car. After it was clean I had to open the door. The garage door was also froze shut but after several minutes of chipping ice, it was free. As i lifted the heavy door, I noticed it was jamming. I had to dis connect the door from the motor completley. I got the door open and drove the car in. I was finally done at 11:30pm. Friday happened to be the easiest and most productive day I had all weekend, saturday and sunday were hell.

Semester Expectations

From this corse i hope to become an overall better writer. I want to be confident in my writing abilities. Working in business I feel like it would be a great asset to me to have good writing skills. From my instructor i don't ask much, just good feedback on my writing assignments. It would be awesome if the assignments were somewhat interesting. I do enjoy reading The Zookeeper's Wife. From myself i expect to do my best, hand in every assignment on time, and only miss class in emergency. This morning i really didn't want to get up and I would have been ok if I skipped class because I had already submitted my #2 summary. The deciding factor in my being here was the value of the class itself. Overall I like the class, it's not too boring, and I feel like the information I recieve is valubal. I think I will do well in this class. Another thing I like is that all of the kids in this class seem to be pretty nice.

About me

My name is Kyle James Green. I like it when girls call me Kyle James. I have four sisters, two older, and two younger. I also have a crazy little brother. When I was young my family moved alot but I spent my high school years in Chetek WI. I was a wrestler and football player for many years. I also gave cross country a shot for a single season. Along with my International business major I'm taking classes to become a pilot here at MSU. I get along great with my roomate Erik and I love it here. Actually I like it much more here than I do at home. My parents are often times immature and crazy. They are not proud of me nor happy for me to be in college. All they are thinking about it financial cost. I don't plan on going back home for quite a while, but when I do it will be only to see friends and my siblings. My car recently broke down, so I couldnt really go home if I wanted to anyway. My new girlfriend Chelsey use to be my best friend. Now that we're dating, we are no longer friends, and things arn't going well. I think some people are made to be just friends, and even though she says she loves me I dont see a future for us. Paul is my best friend and he's truly one of the only people I care about (no homo). We share many of the same interests and it's too bad he couldn't come to MSU. I'm going through a crappy time but I remain thankful for the things I have.
